Uttar Pradesh government minister Asim Arun and Delhi MP Yogendra Chandolia expressed their displeasure over the statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi abroad in a press conference held at the state BJP office on Friday. They demanded that Rahul Gandhi immediately resign from his post and apologize to the Dalit community of the country. They said that Rahul Gandhi, being a political leader, can criticize the government, but criticizing the country is not acceptable.
On this occasion, Aseem Arun mentioned the anti-reservation thinking of the Congress and said that this is not new. In 1956, Kaka Kalelkar’s report was also opposed and the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru rejected this report and in 1961 wrote a letter to the Chief Ministers of all the states and said not to implement reservation. Apart from this, Rajiv Gandhi had said in 1985 that reservation promotes idiots.
He opposed the Mandal Commission in 1990 and Muslim reservation was promoted. Whereas Bhim Rao Ambedkar had clearly said that reservation should not be given on the basis of caste. At the same time, Congress deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of reservation by implementing Article 370. At the same time, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promoted reservation in Jammu and Kashmir by removing Article 370 and the Modi government has strengthened reservation through various schemes. Recalling the past statements of Congress, he said that it has expressed views against reservation from time to time.
Yogendra Chandolia said that BJP was accused of ending reservation, but the public has expressed faith in BJP. He said that whenever the matter of reservation will come up, Bhimrao Ambedkar’s name will be taken. He also said that after the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, the youth of Valmiki community are studying medicine and engineering today, whereas earlier they were confined to cleaning only. State SC Morcha President Mohan Lal Gihara said that the work of spreading Rahul Gandhi’s anti-SC community thinking to the people will be done and a protest will be held against him on Saturday.
